Have you ever wondered about or wanted to learn more about the process of making beer? Welcome to Land-Grant University; a new institution we’re debuting in 2017. LGU will take place as a 4-session program, held once per quarter throughout 2017. Each session will focus on a key element of beer, and will be a live class taught by our very own world-class brew staff in our Franklinton taproom.
The first class is scheduled for Tuesday, March 14th at 6pm and will be on the topic of Yeast, the most important ingredient of beer. There are literally hundreds of varieties and strains of yeast, and we want to help educate you on their role in the process and also allow you to sample a few of them. to taste as part of the class, we’ve brewed 6 variations on the same beer, each featuring a different yeast strain, for a full sensory experience. In addition to the class and beer samples, students will also receive a course book to follow along with and keep as a reference long after graduation.
Students that are not able to attend the 3/14 class will be able to purchase the course book at our taproom and participate in a self-led educational experience as long as beer inventory permits.
We hope you join us for this exciting debut session.
