Scots are a traditional folk. Some of their traditions have taken root around the world (see: golf, scotch), and some fly under the radar but are none-the-less distinct. The Caber Toss and the Wee Heavy, both undeniable feets of strenght are two such customs. Tossing an 20 foot log in the air is no small feat, neither is brewing a powerful malt-forward beer like a wee heavy. Our take on this traditional style was brewed with aging in mind—you’ll find quite a few barrels aging on oak in the brewery—and when enjoyed fresh brings a balanced smooth flavor with notes of dates and toffee.
