Kentucky Derby Party at Land-Grant

Break out your seersucker suit and dust off your best fascinator – you’ve got a DERBY PARTY to attend! Join us in the Beer Garden on Saturday, May 7th to celebrate “The Most Exciting Two Minutes In Sports” and all things Kentucky Derby! We’ll have pre-race coverage on the Beer Garden big screen all day long, and Razzamatazz & Jazz will be playing two sets of Dixieland Jazz on the stage leading up to the main event. Mint Juleps (and your favorite LG beers) will be flowing, and Ray Ray’s will be serving up your favorite BBQ all afternoon!

Be sure to dress in your Derby best for our costume contest! Travis Hoewischer will emcee the event – with a panel of local judges to award prizes for the following categories: *Best Hat    *Best Overall Look    *Most Spirited

Meet The Judges:  
Justina Smart: Justina – a style icon to all who know her in Columbus – owns Smartypants Vintage, a highly respected vintage store in the Short North.
Ty Phillips: Ty, who works as the Manager of Supporter Relations for the Columbus Crew, is known for his fashion-forward ‘Fit checks.
Michael Bush: A local contemporary abstract artist, Michael currently serves as the Board President for the Franklinton Arts District Board of Directors.
Hakim Callwood: As a muralist and LG bartender, Hakim always brings the flavor and fun everywhere he goes.
