Land-Grant + Pelotonia

February marks the official start of Pelotonia 2017, and we couldn’t be more excited! Last year, The team here at Land-Grant was proud to donate over $8,000 to this remarkable organization through Rider Happy Hours and the sale of our delicious One Goal, One Rye’d Rye Pale Ale. We’re aiming to smash that amount this year, and have mapped out some terrific events and details for our partnership in 2017.

arrow Friday, 2/10 – Pelotonia Kick-off Party
As part of Pelotonia’s Launch Week, join us and the amazing Pelotonia staff to learn more about how we partner each year to meet our One Goal! Land-Grant will be donating 15% of the proceeds from the evening to one lucky rider’s Pelotonia Campaign. To be in the running for this prize, all you have to do is join us for a beer in The Taproom (21 and over).

arrow February – October – Taproom Events
Snag an evening in the taproom for your Pelotonia Happy Hour. If you’re a Pelotonia Rider, we will open the taproom up to you and your crew on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and 20% of the proceeds from your event will be donated to your efforts. All of the information, including how to request a date for your personal Pelotonia Happy Hour can be found at Land Grant + Pelotonia Page.

arrow July – Until it’s gone
Starting in July, you can grab a pint or a six pack of One Goal One Rye’d Pale Ale. $1 from every sale will be donated to Pelotonia!

We are looking forward to working together this year to help accomplish our One Goal – to beat cancer once and for all!

A huge and hardy THANK YOU is in order to all of the amazing people who came together to make yesterday an incredible success.

The amazing bands that kept us moving… Colin Mills, Vinny Valentino, The Interns, Doc Robinson, Fizzed, and Yellow Paper Planes.

Our tasty food trcuks…Challah!, Cluckwagon, Oh! Burgers.

The guest breweries that brought some inspiring beers to pour from the famous Daily Growler truck…Actual, Brew Dog, Little Fish, MadTree, North High, Hoof Hearted, Wolf’s Ridge, Seventh Son, Rhinegeist, Rockmill, and Royal Docks!

Our incredible staff for pulling together an amazing variety of beers, and for putting in some crazy hours to make yesterday happen. You guys are amazing.

Cheers to Upright Press for bringing the live screen printing to the party, OBLSK for that bonkers projection on our grain silo, and Franklinton Gardens for the amazing ingredients for our Franklinton Harvest Ale.

Last but certainly not least you fine folks that volunteered your precious weekend time to pour beers, check IDs, and help us pull this thing off. We could not have done it without ya.

One Goal, One Rye’d Returns!

Back for it’s second year, One Goal, One Rye’d returns to Columbus area taps this week. Unlike last year, you’ll see it showing up on shelves as well. Brewed in support of cancer research, this Rye Pale Ale offers up a bit of spice from the malt that pairs nicely with notes of lemon and grapefruit. $1.00 from each six pack sold ­and $1.00 from each taproom goes directly toward Pelotonia’s goal of ending cancer once and for all.

New Brew: Session 71

Session 71 is a Session IPA brewed brewed in two collaborative sessions with our Cleveland based friends, Platform Beer Company. Each batch brewed the same base beer, but each brewery utilized a different dry-hop regimen. Here at Land-Grant we dry-hopped the beer with Summer and Mosaic hops lending the beer a citrusy apricot aroma. Platform opted to use Azacca, giving their rendition plenty of Mango, Papaya, and Orange notes.

Even our designers got in on the collaborative fun, with our Creative Director, Walt, creating the Platform can; and Platform’s designer, Mark, designing ours.

New Collaboration Brew: Totes Liotes

Brewed with our friends at Hoof Hearted Brewing, and inspired by the classic film, Goodfellas, this Black IPA achieves a dark, dank, and smoky hop experience. During the boil, the brew teams screened the film and timed the hop additions around key plot points, the result is a beer that, as far back as it can remember, always wanted to be a gangster.

Land-Grant First Anniversary Recap

This past weekend marked one year in business for Land-Grant. It’s been a wild first 365, and to celebrate, we threw a big party on Saturday and invited all of our friends. We had great live music from Thunder Buddies, Yellow Paper Planes, Colin Mills, and Comrade Question. The Land-Grant brew team created some amazing limited release beers for the event, and put out a full menu of beer. Our brewery pals sent an amazing assortment of special guest drafts that were poured from the Daily Growler truck.We also put together the video above that assembles a full year of photos into a quick hitting annual recap. Thanks to everyone who came out, Cheers!

Glory to Columbus. Land-Grant is a Proud Partner of Columbus Crew SC!

We here at Land-Grant are extremely excited to share that we’ve struck a deal with Columbus Crew SC to become an official partner of the club. Not only will we continue to show the matches in the taproom and pour our beer at Mapfre Stadium; but we will be working with the club to brew a signature beer for Crew SC Supporters.

“At Land-Grant, we take great pride in the community we’re working to grow, our commitment to design and—above all—the quality of our product,” says Land-Grant President, Adam Benner. “Crew SC obviously shares those values. It’s reflected in their branding efforts, play on the field, and devotion to Columbus. They are exactly what we were looking for in our search for a partner.”

Many details are yet to be revealed, including the beer style, name and branding, but we can say that it will be offered at both Mapfre Stadium, which has been serving Land-Grant’s beers during the 2015 season, as well as throughout the Columbus Market. We’ll be filling in those details in the coming weeks, so keep an eye on our Facebook page for the most up-to-date developments. #bemassive
