Franklinton’s very own Independents’ Day went down over the weekend, and it was a creative and inspiring couple of days full of great food, beer, art and music. We had our camera with us and ran into one smiling face after another. Can’t wait ’til the 2017 edition!
This past weekend marked one year in business for Land-Grant. It’s been a wild first 365, and to celebrate, we threw a big party on Saturday and invited all of our friends. We had great live music from Thunder Buddies, Yellow Paper Planes, Colin Mills, and Comrade Question. The Land-Grant brew team created some amazing limited release beers for the event, and put out a full menu of beer. Our brewery pals sent an amazing assortment of special guest drafts that were poured from the Daily Growler truck. We also put together the video above that assembles a full year of photos into a quick hitting annual recap. Thanks to everyone who came out, Cheers!
As part of a larger project, we shot a time-lapse of our happenin’ little corner of East Franklinton. It just so happened a four-alarm fire caught flame and dominated the Columbus Skyline that day. No one was hurt in the blaze, which took place at a pallet factory south of the city.
Did you know that we make all of those sharp looking tap handles you see around town ourselves? We hand paint them in the brewery, laser them next door at the Columbus Idea Foundry, and hand deliver them to each of our accounts, like the fine folks across the street at Strongwater Food and Spirits. Here’s a little video (with a slick soundtrack by Comrade Question) we made to show you the process.
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: Currently there is road construction closing Town St. just east of the taproom, so avoid approaching from the west (COSI) on Town. Our little corner of Franklinton is still easily accessible from 315, Broad St, or Rich.
