Each month through our Let’s Give program, we shine a spotlight on the remarkable organizations that make a positive impact in our community. This June, we are thrilled to feature Stonewall Columbus, an organization dedicated to advocating for, supporting, and celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community.
We share in Stonewall Columbus’ passion for bringing people together, fostering inclusivity and spreading joy. We invite you to join us as we delve into their incredible work and the ways we can support them not only throughout June, but year-round as part of #StonewallPride365.
As the heart of the LGBTQIA+ community in central Ohio, Stonewall Columbus has been an invaluable ally, advocate, and support system for over four decades. They work tirelessly to create a safe, empowering, and vibrant environment for individuals of all sexual orientations and gender identities. From providing resources and counseling to organizing educational initiatives and Pride events, Stonewall Columbus has become a pillar of strength for the LGBTQIA+ community.
While there are a variety of ways you can engage with Stonewall Columbus – the biggest is through Stonewall’s annual Pride Festival, held in Goodale Park on Saturday, June 16th from 4pm – 10pm and Sunday, June 17th from 11am – 8pm. Additionally, their annual Pride March steps off at 10:30AM on Saturday. (You can see a full list of Stonewall’s Pride events here.)
When it came time for a recipe well-suited for Pride month, our brew team was inspired to create a crisp and classic beer with maximum drinkability in mind. Tapping today, you can enjoy CZ PZ – a Session Czech Pilsner on draft in our Taproom all month long. This very traditional Czech Pilsner is brewed with Floor Malted Bohemian Pilsner Malt for a complex malt character that we sessioned down to an ABV of only 3.4%, perfect for long, hot days in the Beer Garden.
In addition to participating in Stonewall’s Pride events, enjoying a super crushable CZ PZ and rounding up when you close your LG tab throughout the month of June, you can also show your support of our featured partner with the purchase of our limited edition Pride scarf. Created by Supporter Supply Co. in conjunction with our friends at American Outlaws Columbus, we’ll be donating 100% of the proceeds from these lightweight scarves back to Stonewall Columbus.
Showing our support to Stonewall Columbus throughout the year is easy to do with their various volunteer opportunities; Stonewall has numerous opportunities that allow us to make a direct impact – including (but not limited to) assisting with events, mentoring LGBTQIA+ youth and advocating for LGBTQIA+ rights. In fact, because Pride has grown so much over the years, they are currently still in need of volunteers for this year’s Pride festival. Your time and dedication can create a lasting difference.
